Rachael Herren

Rachael Herren (she/her) is a professional theatre practitioner, theorist, and teaching artist.
Her research proposes an embodied hermeneutics and seeks to dismantle assumptions that narrative interpretation begins and ends in the intellect. She explores these questions through devised and experimental theatre, movement, adaptation, Shakespeare, Horror onstage, Camp, Queer bodies as performance and in performance, and phenomenology.
She is an amateur calligrapher, chess player, flower arranger, runner, vegetarian/vegan cook, Spanish speaker, poet, and quilter.
She is a great appreciator of coffee and tea, horror films, dogs, Lily King novels, fashion design, food documentaries, textiles, pottery, and peanut butter.
She is the proud companion of a most perfect dog named Winnie.
